More Than Hands-on Time

If you're a massage therapist, esthetician, or any hands-on service provider, you already know: your workday is longer than the sum of your sessions. There's cleanup between clients, laundry, table setup, charting, and the general transition time that never shows up on a booking sheet.

Session Clock's Work Hours Tracking feature accounts for all of it automatically. Instead of doing mental math at the end of the day, you get an accurate work total that reflects what your day actually looked like.

How It Works

Work Hours Tracking adds two layers on top of your session totals:

  • Extra Time Per Session: A fixed number of minutes added for each session you complete. Set this to match your typical cleanup and transition time — 10, 15, or 20 minutes are common choices.
  • Threshold Bonus: An optional one-time bonus that kicks in when your work total crosses a minimum. For example, if you work 5+ hours, you might add 30 minutes for a lunch allowance that your employer requires you to log.

Both values are fully customizable in Settings → Work Hours.

Setting It Up

  1. Go to Settings and scroll to the Work Hours section
  2. Toggle Enable Work Hours Tracking on
  3. Set your Extra Time Per Session — this is the minutes added for each completed session (e.g., 15 min for cleanup and transition)
  4. Optionally enable Threshold Bonus and configure the minimum hours and bonus amount
  5. Customize the labels if you want different names than "Hands-on" and "Work Total"

Real-World Example

Say you're an RMT doing six 60-minute massages in a day with 15 minutes of cleanup between each:

  • Hands-on: 6 × 60 min = 6.00 hours
  • Extra time: 6 × 15 min = 1.50 hours
  • Threshold bonus: Work total is 7.50h (≥ 5h threshold), so add 0.25h lunch
  • Work Total: 7.75 hours

Session Clock calculates this on your dashboard instantly. No spreadsheet, no mental math, no forgetting to log your cleanup time.

Why It Matters

Accurate work hours matter for payroll, tax reporting, and simply understanding how much of your day is spoken for. Many spa and clinic employees are paid based on total hours worked, not just hands-on time. With Work Hours Tracking, you always have a number you can trust.
